About Irina

Irina Chong is fluent in Malay, Mandarin and Cantonese languages, as well as English. She was an import/export manager and business owner in Malaysia before moving to the United States. She earned a certified Professional Public Buyer designation through the Universal Public Procurement Certification Council, supplementing her business education at the University of Washington, Seattle. Relocated in Houston, she was first employed as a senior buyer for the City of Houston, advancing to a procurement specialist position. A member of the First Baptist Church, Houston, Chong has made several mission trips to Africa, serving in the orphanage and school ministry.
